"Mama’s Magic"

(Docu-Poetry – 39 minutes)

Mama'a MagicPoet, performer and modern day bard Glenis Redmond presents her signature poem "Mama’s Magic" alongside other favorites. This film reveals the soul of this deeply inspiring poet through personal interviews, family footage and stage performances.

 

 

Filmmaker

Debra Roberts has been involved in multicultural theatre and dance for over 25 years. In 1997, she moved to Asheville and had a series of dreams about making a feature length film in North Carolina. Shortly thereafter, Roberts met Glenis Redmond and, alongside Scott Dobbins and Shane Peters at A New Light Productions in Asheville, created the documentary "Mama’s Magic". Since then, Roberts has produced other documentaries through her non-profit company, Heron Productions. Currently she creates television spots, called Little Pearls, that promote inspiring people and great thoughts.
