Mano a ManoIn Mano a Mano, two friends-turned-bitter rivals battle for the affections of a seductive woman in this frenetic action thriller. The film’s final showdown combines the classic tale of two men fighting for love with a winner-take-all back alley brawl.

 

Filmmaker Profile: Piedmont Community College

Director:  Willie Simmons

Willie Simmons has been a professional associate director in the Los Angeles market for over 20 years.  With a deep love for martial arts, Simmons has been involved in the choreography of several big budget fight scenes—the most famous being the final fight scene in Lethal Weapon.

Editor, Writer:  Matthew B. Moore

Matthew Moore has been in the film and video industry for the past 10 years. A Mississippi native, Moore’s interest is the independent film scene.  He and his partners, Neal Sugg and T. S. Bennett, have made over 13 films in the past five years.  Moore currently works as an editor/shooter for Emotive Media and teaches Grip/Electric and Editing at Piedmont Community College.

Local Angles

  • Piedmont Community College (PCC) has two campuses, one in Person County and the other in Caswell County. PCC's main campus is located in Roxboro, NC (Person County), and its second campus is located in Yanceyville, NC (Caswell County).
  • Director of Photography:  Michael Corbett: For the past thirteen years, Michael has focused most of his efforts on education, supervising film programs in both Florida and North Carolina.  Michael is currently the director of Piedmont Community College's Film and Video Program in Yanceyville, NC.
  • Editor, Writer:  Matthew B. Moore: Moore currently works as an editor/shooter for Emotive Media and teaches Grip/Electric and Editing at Piedmont Community College.
