Cats
(EXPERIMENTAL, 11 minutes, 48 seconds)

CatsCats is an experimental narrative short inspired by Gaston Bachelard's The Poetics of Space. A lonely woman ebbs between dream and reality, present and past as she interacts with the architecture of her house. Part home movie, part technical exploration of digital video, the director utilized his own house, his wife and his dog as the primary protagonists of this piece.

Filmmaker Profile: – Joshua Gibson

Josh Gibson is the Assistant Director of the Film/Video/Digital program at Duke University. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Duke University he earned an MFA in Filmmaking from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Josh teaches production courses in film and digital video and supervises advanced independent study projects at Duke. In addition, he helps coordinate the curriculum of the production component of the certificate program. He has received numerous awards for his films and videos including a Fulbright Fellowship to India to aid in the production of his first feature film, Two Rivers. He has directed over 12 films and videos and has been a director of photography on many others.
