Pinwheels
(DOCUMENTARY, 5 minutes, 59 seconds)

PinwheelsPinwheels is a loving look at a special cookie made by Helen Morganstein, as told through the eyes and tastes of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  It is an ode to the legend of a very simple cookie, but also to family ties and the place that food can have in family lore.


Filmmaker Profile:  Eric Mlyn

Eric Mlyn is the Director of the Robertson Scholars Program, as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor of International Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, and Adjunct Associate Professor of Public Policy at Duke. Mlyn has taught Political Science at UNC-Chapel Hill and directed a set of new programs aimed at reinvigorating the undergraduate experience. He is the author of The State, Society, and Limited Nuclear War as well as numerous articles on national and international security. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota (1991). Mlyn is married and the father of two.

Local Angles

  • Eric Mlyn has taught at UNC-Chapel Hill since 1990 and is currently the Director of the Robertson Scholars Program at Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill.
