Poetry in Motion
(ANIMATION, 22 minutes)

Poetry in Motion features a series of nine poems—ranging from Emily Dickinson to young contemporary poets— illustrated with animation.  While Francesca Talenti created all of the animations, the style in each is different, illustrating a particular tone and mood.

Filmmaker Profile:  Francesca Talenti

Francesca Talenti teaches filmmaking at UNC-Chapel Hill.  She has made a multitude of films, which have won awards worldwide.  Most recently, her short film The Planets received an Honorable Mention at the Sundance Film Festival in 2003, as well as the Best Experimental prize in Nashville, TN.  Also, five of the animations from Poetry in Motion were selected to screen on PBS, through WNET-NY.
