Filmmaker Profile: Adam Alphin A native of North Carolina, Filmmaker Adam Alphin was borne in Kinston, NC, moved to Fayetteville, NC, at the age of eight, attended college in Greensboro, NC, broke in the film business in Los Angeles for three years, and has been back in Wilmington for the last decade. Alphin has worked in the film industry doing this and that for the last 14 years. Alphin received his formal education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he double majored in Broadcast/Cinema and English. Shortly after graduating, Alphin got his first job as a Production Assistant on the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. After that, he moved into the Camera Department as a Film Loader on Betsy's Wedding, directed by Alan Alda. Camera took him from Wilmington to Los Angeles and back again. By 1999, he went into editing as a sideline, which eventually evolved into a full service production company, ArcLight Digital. Four years and counting, he has produced numerous award winning local and regional commercials, corporate videos, and documentaries—most notably Thank You Eddie Hart that aired on UNC-TV on Memorial Day.
