Até (ANIMATION, 12 minutes, 52 seconds)
Chris Ndingwan & Emily Edwards

AtéAté is a unique animated story of a proud and beautiful woman who lives with her mother in a West African village. A government man, Soh, arrives in the village and flirts with Até. Confident in her beauty, Até believes Soh will marry her. Later, when Até is in the forest reluctantly gathering wood for her mother, she insults a deformed woman. This woman curses Até–calling her a beautiful flower, “who shall bear bitter fruit.” When the curse comes true, Até will need the vision of a powerful soothsayer to understand what is important.
