An English playwright spent his entire life trying to write a hit play to make himself immortal. Instead, he died on the stool of his local pub after drawing on his last five pound note, an unmistakable marking. Years later, when the bill reappears in the hands of a patron, the locals realize the curse of playwright has returned. How far will they go to rid themselves of the curse of the Writer's Pub?
Filmmaker Profile: DAVID DUNN JR.
David Dunn Jr. began his film career as a grip. He began directing with a super-16 feature before moving to Wilmington, NC. Dunn has worked with Heath Franklin, the producer of the Writer's Pub, since 1999. Together, thet have completed two features, and made a number of short films, this being the most recent. Dunn's next project will be a feature he wrote entitled, Pills for Sylvia, about a young thief's inability to give up a life of petty crime.
Filmmaker Profile: HEATH FRANKLIN
Heath Franklin is the business manager and founder of Galvanized Films. A native of Garden Grove, California, Franklin settled in Wilmington, North Carolina. Franklin studied under Frank Capra, Jr. at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He has written and directed several films and has worked on such television shows as Dawson’s Creek and films such as A Walk to Remember.

- The Writer's Pub was shot entirely in Wilmington, NC, using all local resources - including gear, crew and cast. The filmmakers were especially excited to have attracted the caliber of local actors cast, including veteran actors like Peter Jurasik, Henry Darrow and Jordan Rhodes.
