Who would have thought an onion could generate so much excitement? But excitement abounds when the wild leek commonly known as a ramp makes it's entrance as the first fresh spring vegetable in the North Carolina mountains. And for the community of Robbinsonville, the ramp's appearance is reason enough to throw a town festival. Naturalist Ila Hatter shows us what's so special about wild mountain ramps.

Naturalist and photographer Kevin Adams honestly doesn't know how many waterfalls there are in his home State. With more than 20 years of experience in photographing waterfalls, Kevin speculates that the job of locating the hundreds of waterfalls in North Carolina is too large for any one person. But he's more than happy to hike around the NC Mountains trying to find the answer. Kevin leads us on a journey to some of his favorite waterfalls and gives us a lesson in photography along the way.
