North Carolina's Favorite Outdoors Series Goes High Definition!

AN ALL-NEW SEASON OF CAROLINA OUTDOOR JOURNAL IN HD
This September, UNC-TV's perennial outdoor series Carolina Outdoor Journal ventures into its 11th season, traveling the length of the state, from the rugged mountain terrain to the coastal Gulf Stream, to reel in the tastiest fish, track the best game and explore the state's vast natural beauty-like never before.
The new season of Carolina Outdoor Journal premieres Saturday, September 4, at 5:30 PM and re-airs Sunday, September 5 at 11 AM. And this year public television's only series featuring North Carolina's great outdoors is produced and filmed in high definition (HD), bringing Tar Heel landscapes to viewers like you with a bigger picture, sharper image and better sound!
Joe Albea and John Moore return forthis season's Carolina Outdoor Journal in HD, hosting the show's outdoor segments. During each program, Farmville, NC, native Moore and Greenville, NC's Albea share their in-depth knowledge and helpful hints for hunting and fishing all across the state.
"This is the best season yet," touts Albea. "Carolina Outdoor Journal's all-new wide screen, high definition format brings the Carolina outdoors to the viewer with a bigger and sharper picture."
Each half-hour episode of Carolina Outdoor Journal focuses on one type of game, fish or fowl with an accompanying Gear Time segment outlining the latest and best equipment used in the field. A third segment, Simple Cooking, features highly-regarded home economist Donna Reynolds in the Journal kitchen, lending helpful hints for cooking the catch of the day.
While viewers can enjoy all-new episodes featuring the state's favorite fish and game, Albea and Moore's helpful Gear Time segments, and Donna Reynolds's Simple Cooking in standard definition every Saturday at 5:30 PM and again on Sundays at 11 AM on UNC-TV, they can also catch the sharper images of Carolina Outdoor Journal in high definition on UNC-HD-UNC-TV's high definition channel. Two channels (UNC-TV and UNC-HD), carrying all-new episodes of Carolina Outdoor Journal means the Tar Heel State's favorite outdoor series is back-bigger and better than ever.
Highlights of September's scheduled programs include crisp casting at the coast's Core Banks, fishing Pisgah National Forest for delicious mountain trout and rafting North Carolina's famous New River in search of the sporty smallmouth bass.
