Take Part in This Special Event During Exploris Community Day: A Tribute to Local Heroes!
Play it Safe With UNC-TV Ready To Learn & Educational Adventures
Saturday, September 9, From 11 AM—5 PM, at Raleigh’s Exploris Interactive Museum

Play it safe at Raleigh’s Exploris interactive museum, Saturday, September 9, from 11 AM—5 PM, as UNC-TV Ready To Learn partners with Educational Adventures—the production company behind the Emmy® nominated Danger Rangers series—to bring an afternoon full of fun focusing on kid’s first response, safety and health!

Danger Rangers, premiering this fall on UNC-KD, UNC-TV’s digital channel for kids, is the first animated, half-hour series that uses action-adventure, comedy and fantastic music to entertain, educate and empower children to follow the series’ motto: “Think Safe, Play Safe & Be Safe!”  Featuring first-rate, family-friendly entertainment, each episode teaches young children to make smart safety related decisions that prevent accidental injuries.

At this exciting UNC-TV Ready To Learn event, located inside Exploris, parents and caregivers, and the children in their lives, will receive customized UNC-TV Danger Rangers safety materials and other helpful resources sure to aid children in preparing for safe and healthy activities.  The Danger Rangers’ own animal superhero Kitty will be on-hand to meet and greet children and affirm the valuable, life-saving safety messages packed into the afternoon event. Exploris will also show the informative Danger Rangers’ episode Fires & Liars in the interactive museum’s Journey Theatre—all free with admission to Exploris interactive museum.

This event promoting children’s safety is part of the Exploris Community Day: A Tribute to Local Heroes.  As Americans come together in a spirit of unity and service surrounding the fifth anniversary of 9/11, Exploris celebrates this spirit by honoring the everyday heroes who serve our community and keep us safe.  Free activities on Raleigh’s Hargett Street and in the Exploris Courtyard include downtown meet and greets with local firefighters, police officers and emergency personnel, opportunities to explore their amazing equipment, opportunities to learn more about local volunteering and to enjoy children's performances and cultural displays from groups representing the state’s diverse community.

Other organizations confirmed for participation, include: Iranian Cultural Society of North Carolina; Habitat for Humanity of Wake County; Triangle Lebanese Association; Triangle American Red Cross; Ukrainian Association of North Carolina; Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina; Philippine American Association of North Carolina; and the North Carolina Canine Emergency Response Team.
