UNC-TV PRESENTS ALL-NEW LOCAL SHOWS SPOTLIGHTING OUR GREAT TAR HEEL STATE
DURING FESTIVAL 2006-Saturday, Feb. 25-Sunday, March 26

Revel in the scenery, heritage and flavor of the Old North State with all-new local specials and more Tar Heel talents during UNC-TV's FESTIVAL 2006-Saturday, Feb. 25-Sunday, March 26.

For aficionados of North Carolina cooking, FESTIVAL 2006 delivers up a flavorful collection of North Carolina Weekend segments featuring UNC-TV's own Bob Garner as he taste tests the "house specials" at a variety of your favorite Tar Heel eateries. Enjoy the premiere of North Carolina Weekend House Specials With Bob Garner, Saturday, February 25, at 10 AM (encoring Sunday, March 5, at 9:30 AM).

Climb aboard Sunday, February 26, at 9 AM, with seasoned cruise writer Claiborne Young-LIVE-in the UNC-TV studio as Cruising Carolinaexplores the hidden gems of North Carolina's Inner Banks. This new documentary offers an intimate look at the incredible natural beauty and historic communities that anchor the region. Cruising Carolina uses the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, the Albemarle Sound and the rivers that feed it for a fascinating boating "road" trip to some of the wildest places and most welcoming Tar Heel coastal communities.  

Continue your travels with an air of adventure, romance and excitement when UNC-TV presents the FESTIVAL favorite Great Scenic Railway Journeys: Celebrating 175 Years of the American Railroad, Tuesday, February 28, at 8 PM. North Carolina's own Grammy-winning musician and storyteller David Holt joins program producer and director Rob Van Camp-LIVE-in the UNC-TV studio to host visits to 22 of the nation's most popular railway landmarks. Discover all the history these beloved trains have left behind in this commemoration of the 175th anniversary of the American railroad.

Have a hands-on look at some of the finest hands-on art in the Tar Heel State with Pottery Live! With Ben Owen III, Sunday, March 5, at 3:30 PM. Join Ben Owen III-LIVE-from his Seagrove studio as this renowned local artisan creates a fresh batch of beautiful artwork and shares the history of this generations-old, time-honored craft.

Saturday, March 18, at noon, Don Mauer brings guilt-free grilling to your own backyard-LIVE-in the UNC-TV studio for FESTIVAL 2006! Just in time for spring, this avid cook and radio personality yet again shows how to replace fat with flavor in his all-new special Don Mauer With the Complete Idiot's Guide to Grilling.
