How-to hero Vicki Payne is back and tackling another sensational season of DIY on FYH—For Your Home. Although Vicki’s daughter and historic co-host, Sloan Payne Rutter, sits out the season to spend time with her growing family, Vicki won’t go it alone in this 26th season. On the contrary, top interior designers, decorative painters, gardening specialists and other experts join in on making these great projects come off with beautiful results. Vicki also keeps her FYH trademark of appealing, affordable and do-able home improvements going strong with new projects that not capitalize on the hottest trends, but offer empowering satisfaction. The new season premieres Saturday, January 23, at 10:30 AM, on UNC-TV.
This season’s highlights include some super feel-good episodes. In the season kickoff, Backyard Makeover, Vicki helps a single mom, struggling to make end’s meet, as she seeks to provide her two young children with a safe and fun backyard playground. Vicki also gets victorious at Victory Junction, a camp that provides enriching, empowering and exciting camping experiences for children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses in a safe and medically sound environment. In this episode, Vicki and friends create a lounge where the camp’s dedicated counselors can retreat and recharge.
As the housing market steadily grows, FYH gives it an extra nudge with an enlightening view, from homeowners’ perspectives, at building a custom home or planning a major remodeling project. In addition, FYH helps spread breast cancer awareness and treatment message through Vicki’s continued commitment to the Susan G. Komen “Build for the Cure” show home. Vicki and her team worked with the home’s builder and furniture supplier to create this dream home and inspire fresh ideas for bringing new life to your home and garden. The nine shows featured showcase highlights from the home’s construction, interior design and landscape architecture.
"As a cancer survivor," notes Vicki, "I am truly honored to work on this wonderful project. I always look forward to sharing our ideas with the thousands who toured the home as well as the FYH family of viewers. We rely on our national sponsors as well as dozens of volunteers to create a special space that radiates the true spirit of the season and this important cause."
Each half-hour episode of this viewer favorite still showcases the FYH "You Can Do It" trademark: easy, step-by-step directions for successfully creating beautiful and useful home decorating, remodeling, crafts and gardening projects. In addition, leading home and garden professionals reveal their insiders’ know how in each show. For unique insider views to help take the intimidation out of achieving professional results, For Your Home brings it all home to you!
