FOR YOUR HOME’S NEW SEASON HONES IN ON BABY BOOMERS
New Season Targets Housing Issues for 78-Million Americans With SASS!

For Your Home, public television’s premier half-hour home and garden program hosted by DIY experts Vicki Payne and daughter Sloan Payne-Rutter (and featuring Sloan’s daughter Logan), returns for another new season full of fresh ideas and step-by-step instructions for improving your quality of living. Tune in Saturday, August 26, at 10:30 AM, for the exciting season premiere featuring ways to brighten your kitchen and make everything more accessible.

Each 30-minute, close-captioned episode of this magazine-formatted series includes clever concepts for home decorating, remodeling, crafts and gardening designed to bring out your individual style and personality. And the 2000 season is really special as Vicki and Sloan address the unique housing needs of the 78-million Americans born between 1946 and 1964—the Baby Boomers!

Walk down any neighborhood street in America and you’ll find that these Boomers inhabit the majority of homes. This powerful group revolutionizes the concept of retirement and transforms how the world thinks about retirees.

With 68% of Baby Boomers still providing some form of financial support for their adult children—and 56% of them responsible for providing housing for their elderly parents—housing issues are a top concert to today’s Baby Boomers.

This season FYH responds to many of these issues with creativity and SASS—substance, attitude, style and savvy! A new condo is the skeletal setting for this season’s shows. Tackling one room at a time, Vicki and Sloan address such issues as lighting, accessibility, storage, space and maintenance. They offer design ideas and creative solutions to make “downsizing” as easy and successful as possible.

And while Baby Boomers may be this season’s focus, FYH also makes sure that all its viewers feel included by involving them in the conversations and projects. For Your Home’s range of practical, easy-to-understand and do-able information offers universal appeal for audiences of all ages.

The production company behind For Your Home, Cutters Productions, earned the American Public Television (APT) 2005 MVP Award. To date Cutters has provided APT with 23 program titles for national public television distribution, many of which were highly successful fundraising programs. Cutters’ One Stroke Painting With Donna Dewberry remains one of the top-grossing how-to pledge programs ever produced.
