UNC-TV Garners 18 Regional Emmy Award Nominations

Nominations for the twenty-third annual Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards have been announced by the Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards organization in Nashville, Tennessee, and UNC-TV has received 18 nominations for programming and related productions, including five for the magazine series Our State.  The final awards ceremony will be held in Nashville on January 24, 2009. 

UNC-TV and/or its production partners received nominations in the following categories:

Documentary/Cultural:

Documentary/Historical:

Founded in 1957, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), best known for the internationally recognized Emmy Award, is a non-profit, professional organization dedicated to improving the quality of television at all levels. The Nashville/Midsouth Region, founded in 1984, encompasses the States of North Carolina (except Asheville) and Tennessee, and the television market of Huntsville, Alabama.
