UNC-TV Re-Launches Its All-North Carolina Digital Channel!
UNC-NC Exclusively Broadcasts Programs About Local People and Places,
Beginning October 1
UNC-NC, UNC-TV's digital channel spotlighting North Carolina programming, is going all-local, all the time.
Beginning Saturday, October 1, the digital channel will exclusively broadcast UNC-TV's original local productions, repeats of your favorite North Carolina programs, plus independent programming acquisitions from the state's finest producers and filmmakers.
From classic episodes of UNC-TV's longest-running series, North Carolina People, to original local series about historical places in North Carolina, to encore episodes of the award-winning interview series from North Carolina's own Charlie Rose, UNC-NC will feature the best and brightest programming featuring the people and places of the Tar Heel State. In addition, UNC-NC will also recognize our viewers watching from North Carolina's border states and include programs that spotlight South Carolina and Virginia.
"The launch of UNC-NC as the North Carolina channel will offer a rich and expanded resource of new UNC-TV productions, classics from our extensive archive of local program content, and a broader portfolio of independent productions about the state and its citizens," says Diane Lucas, UNC-TV Director of Programming and Outreach.~"All of us at UNC-TV are pleased to deliver on our promise to increase our services to our viewers with our digital multicast channels, and excited to consider the bright future of UNC-NC to educate, inform and inspire our viewers."
UNC-TV is proud to produce more original local programming and series than most public television stations around the country. This commitment to programs about North Carolina makes UNC-TV, and its digital channels, one of the state's most important sources of information.
UNC-TV is North Carolina's only statewide public broadcasting system, made possible through a unique partnership of public investment and private support. For more information about UNC-TV and its programs, please visit www.unctv.org.
