Dan Heath Shares How Ideas Can Be Made To Stick
On UNC-TV’s North Carolina Bookwatch, Friday, August 24, at 9:30 PM

Why do some ideas thrive while others die? And how do we improve the chances of worthy ideas? In their new how-to, Made to Stick, accomplished educators and idea collectors Chip and Dan Heath tackle, head-on, these vexing questions. Inside, the brothers Heath reveal the anatomy of ideas that “stick” and explain sure-fire methods for making ideas stickier, such as violating schemas, using the Velcro Theory of Memory, and creating “curiosity gaps.”

In the latest episode of UNC-TV’s local literary series North Carolina Bookwatch with D.G. Martin, premiering Friday, August 24, at 9:30 PM, Made To Stick co-author Dan Heath shares this critically-acclaimed guide to creatively and effectively communicating ideas.

“Regardless of your level of "natural creativity," [this book] shows you how a little focused effort can make almost any idea stickier, and a sticky idea is an idea that is more likely to make a difference,” says Heath.  “All you need to do is understand the six principles of powerful ideas.”

Dan Heath is a Consultant at Duke Corporate Education. His role includes designing and developing training programs, serving as a teacher and facilitator, and managing client relationships. He designs and teaches in programs for clients such as Microsoft, Dow, and Home Depot.

Don’t miss DG Martin’s all-new interview with Dan Heath on North Carolina Bookwatch, Friday, August 24, at 9:30 PM, with an encore episode airing Sunday, August 26, at 5 PM, only on UNC-TV!
