Volunteer Today for SeptemberFest!

Join UNC-TV by becoming a volunteer during SeptemberFest, September 6-14. This mini pledge drive will feature great programming, live in studio guests and much more! Volunteer now to be a part of this special event! Volunteers are needed to answer phone calls from contributors who support UNC-TV’s programming. A confirmation of your assignment will be made prior to the event.

FUN AT THE FAIR!! The North Carolina Mountain State Fair is just around
the corner and here is your opportunity to join in all the fun and
excitement! You can enjoy a complimentary day at the fair and help
UNC-TV all at the same time.

UNC-TV is returning to western North Carolina to participate in the
15th annual NC Mountain State Fair, September 5-14 in Fletcher,
NC. If you enjoy the atmosphere of a state fair with all the rides,
games, great food, cultural exhibits and livestock shows, consider
becoming a UNC-TV volunteer at the fair. You will meet interesting
people and receive a complimentary admission ticket to the fair.
For volunteer dates and times refer to the form below.

Volunteers are needed:
September 5,6,7 and 12,13,14
(1st shift 8:45am-2pm)
(2nd shift 1:45pm-6pm)
(3rd shift 5:45pm-9pm)

September 8,9,10 11
(1st shift 2:45pm-6: 30pm)
(2nd shift 6:30pm-9pm)

UNC-TV will be participating in the 155th Annual North Carolina State Fair, October 16-26, 2008 in Raleigh at our award-winning pavilion on Media Row.  If you enjoy great food, cultural exhibits, livestock shows, rides and games consider becoming a UNC-TV volunteer at the fair.  You will meet interesting people and receive a complimentary admission ticket to the fair.  For volunteer dates and times, refer to the form below.

October 16th     
(3pm-6pm, and 5:45pm-9pm)

          October 17-26 (1st shift 8:30am-1:30pm)
   (2nd shift 1:15pm-5: 30pm)
  (3rd shift 5:15pm-9pm)

The participation of volunteers from all over North Carolina is an essential part of UNC-TV's continued success. Volunteers are valued for their time, energy, experience, and expertise.

You, too, can play a special role at UNC-TV. Review the many ways you or your community group can get involved below:

• Clerical/data entry support;
• Answering telephones for special events;
• Studio audience members;
• UNC-TV Kids Club events;
• Walk-around character and handler for Read-a-roo;
• UNC-TV tour guide;
• Hospitality coordinator;
• Volunteer captains (providing orientation and leadership to volunteers in the studio for pledge drives and special events);
• On-air talent for pledge drives;
• Special production personnel (production assistants, camera operators, floor managers, audio/lighting assistants);
• Local f airs (always a great way to enjoy a day at the fair);
• Mailing projects;
• Volunteer newsletter committee (opportunity for anyone interested in writing or editing a newsletter);
• Volunteer recruitment committee (recruit groups and individuals for various volunteer opportunities).
