We Take Our Rights for Granted
By Ashleigh Jenks

We the people of the United States take our rights for granted! We think that we need a lot more than we have. I think that this is not true. What we need is to not take things for granted. We need to share the things we take for granted.

We need to not take things for granted. If we are saying, "I do not want to eat this food because it is nasty," I bet somebody in South America would be more than happy to eat the food you say is nasty. We should be happy that we have this food. There are so many starving people in this world that you could probably have a country or at least a city full of starving people. This is what my grandmother would likely say, "Eat your dinner. There are starving people in this world." I take things for granted, like I will not eat all of my dinner sometimes.

I think that we should share the things we take for granted. We should give money to some charities to give to the poor people that cannot afford to buy food for their families. We should also give our old clothes to people like the DAV so that they can give them to the people that cannot afford clothes.

That is why I think we take things for granted in the United States.
