Email Marketing Manager
UNC-TV, Public Media North Carolina, located in RTP, NC, invites applications for an Email Marketing Manager position who is responsible for managing UNC-TV’s email marketing channel including communicating the brand through email campaigns, promoting shows and other station priorities and engaging audiences through relevant and targeted messaging while driving fundraising revenue for the organization. The individual in this role will lead the production, management and reporting for UNC-TV’s email marketing campaigns which includes content development, design and deployment for regular content emails, engagement and fundraising campaigns and ongoing marketing automation. This role will manage a comprehensive cross-departmental email communications calendar in order to support the promotional priorities of the organization.

As the principal owner of the UNC-TV email platform, this role will require strong knowledge of email marketing best practices along with the ability to compile and analyze email performance data and make recommendations for improvement to stakeholders based on the outcomes; ideate and implement A/B testing to identify opportunities for optimization; lead email segmentation efforts to ensure we are collecting the data needed to send the most relevant content possible; and make data-driven decisions about the email strategy, such as email frequency, creative direction, subject lines, etc. This role will work closely with departments across the organization to understand business priorities and execute an email strategy that meets those needs.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience and 4+ years of experience in managing successful, high performing email marketing programs. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Purchasing Director
UNC-TV, Public Media North Carolina, is actively seeking a Purchasing Director who is responsible for directing and implementing all purchasing aspects for the statewide UNC-TV public media network. This includes developing, evaluating, and implementing request for proposals (RFPs), bid documents and awards, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, P Cards, PO invoices, purchasing guidance, policy administration and communications. This position also serves as the accounts payable director for suppliers, invoices, and payment follow-up. The Purchasing Director oversees two positions – a Procurement Specialist and a Travel Manager/Purchasing Coordinator; and reports directly to the Director of Finance & Administration.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Sales Traffic Manager
UNC-TV, Public Media North Carolina, is actively seeking a Sales Traffic Manager. This position serves as liaison between UNC-TV’s Content and Advancement Divisions to oversee sales client contracts and to review, create, and schedule UNC-TV’s underwriting assets in compliance with customer requirements and broadcast specifications. The Sales Traffic Manager also creates and schedules local on-air promotional assets and development assets for all program services and provides traffic reports as assigned for underwriting and grant opportunities.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience related to the area of assignment in a broadcast television, radio and emerging media environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Website Manager
UNC-TV, Public Media North Carolina, invites applications for a Website Manager who is responsible for managing UNC-TV’s website platform including the development and execution of web strategy designed to communicate the brand, promote shows and other station priorities and engage audiences through relevant and targeted messaging while driving fundraising revenue for the organization. The Website Manager will lead the production, maintenance and reporting for UNC-TV’s web presence including, but not limited to, unctv.org and microsites, content curation and editing and site optimization.

As the principal overseer of the UNC-TV web presence, this role leads the development of design layout and/or build of all web pages, content development across sites, ongoing maintenance and optimization, troubleshooting website errors, and analyzing site performance to identify underperforming web pages and content and making recommendations for improvement. The Website Manager will be the liaison with internal and external stakeholders responsible for reviewing and prioritizing requests for digital media creation including new webpage development and managing display ads across the platform. This requires strong project management and communications skills in order to manage and execute the web and digital presence of their content and priorities.

This role works cross-functionally across the organization to understand business requirements and translate them into solutions to meet those needs. In an effort to stay up-to-date with functionality and capabilities of web platforms, this role will also act as the liaison with PBS digital team, CMS vendor, LearningMedia and other products to continually optimize the UNC-TV website.

Minimum requirements include a combination of a master’s degree and 1-2 years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Internship Program

UNC-TV has a robust internship program offering fall, spring, or summer unpaid/for credit learning opportunities for currently enrolled students interested in public media. Areas of interest include marketing and communications, business administration, fundraising, social media, production, post production, editing and much more.

Fall 2019 Internships: September 16 - December 6

Archival Content
UNC-TV/Public Media North Carolina is seeking several Archival Content Interns to inventory and annotate UNC-TV’s historic archival moving image collection – including documentary, interview, travel, and performing arts media from over 60 years of Public Media programming.
Duties consist primarily of simple editing of A/V materials through the Dalet MAM (Media Asset Management System), entering full searchable metadata including content description, and monitoring audio and video to ensure the highest quality control.
